Ingredients:
1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based like almond or oat)
½ tsp ground turmeric
A pinch of black pepper
¼ tsp cinnamon (optional)
½ tsp ghee or coconut oil (optional)
Honey or jaggery to taste
Method:
In a small pan, gently heat the milk over low heat.
Add turmeric, black pepper, and cinnamon.
Stir well and let it simmer for 5–7 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in honey or jaggery.
Strain if desired, and serve warm.
2. Buttermilk Digestive Drink (Takra)
A light, probiotic-rich drink that cools the body and aids digestion.
Ingredients:
½ cup plain natural yoghurt
1½ cups water (chilled or room temperature)
¼ tsp roasted cumin powder
A pinch of black salt
Fresh coriander or mint leaves (optional)
Method:
Whisk the yoghurt and water together until smooth and frothy.
Stir in cumin and black salt.
Add fresh herbs if using, and mix well.
Serve chilled.
3. Almond Saffron Milk (Kesar Badam Doodh)
A luxurious, nourishing drink that boosts memory and energy.
Ingredients:
1 cup milk (whole or almond milk)
5–6 almonds (soaked overnight and peeled)
3–4 saffron strands
¼ tsp cardamom powder
1 tsp honey or a small piece of jaggery
Method:
Blend soaked almonds into a smooth paste.
Heat the milk and add saffron strands.
Stir in almond paste and cardamom.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat, add sweetener, and serve warm.
4. Herbal Lemonade (Jal Jeera)
A refreshing, cooling summer drink that supports digestion and detoxification.
Ingredients:
2 cups cold water
Juice of 1 fresh lime
½ tsp roasted cumin powder
A few mint leaves (crushed or blended)
